Frequently Asked Questions

Is there anything I need to know about before having a massage at home?

I bring all my equipment with me, I just need a space of approx. 2m x 3m in order to set up my couch and be able to work around it. The only thing I don't bring with me and will ask you to provide is towels for modesty, one large one or two small ones is usually enough.

I do ask that a parking space can be available on a driveway or in the immediate vicinity of your home, as I have to carry my equipment in.

What type of massage products do you use?

I use Songbird massage wax, it's a 100% natural beeswax product containing essentials oils. All my waxes are nut-free, but please let me know if you have any specific allergies or hypersensitivities, as I do have a vegan alternative.

What should I wear for my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothes but note that you may need to remove them, depending on the area that we are working on. Shorts that can be easily rolled up won't need to be removed.

Ladies - I recommend wearing a normal bra as I am able to work around it. A sports bra will likely need to be removed.

How long are the sessions?

You can choose either a 60 or 90minute appointment to suit your schedule.

Can you help with back/neck/shoulder pain?

Yes! I can help with muscle, joint and movement issues - from neck pain to foot pain, and everything in between.

But if I can't, I'll recommend someone who may be better suited to help you.

How long will it take to get better?

It depends on your problem and what you want to achieve. We’ll work together on your recovery plan so we both have a clear plan and are working towards the same goal.

Do I need to be an athlete to see you?

Not at all - sports massage is for anyone and everyone! It doesn't matter if you have a desk job or go to the gym 5 days a week, if you want to move easier and get your body feeling better - then I have a treatment suitable for you.

Will it be painful?

Typically, a medium-firm pressure is used - but it doesn't have to be painful and my goal is never to cause pain! The term 'no pain, no gain' has no place here and can often do more harm than good - particularly to your nervous system. At times it can be uncomfortable, but you certainly won't be left black and blue afterwards!

The pressure can be adjusted to suit each client and alternative techniques can be used to achieve the same result.
